Social Media Manager

Job description

Did you know that the US has the most Linktree users, globally? Well, you do now!

Who is Linktree: A rapidly growing tech company, with 30,000+ new account sign-ups every day and 12 million+ customer accounts. We completed our Series A raise last year and grew from 15 to 60 people across the globe, with even higher growth planned in 2021.

To support our biggest growth market and our highest volume of customers, we want to make sure we show our US customers and friends the love they deserve.

To do that, we need a Social Media Manager to treat our US customers like their own online family. You would become the expert on the Linktree product and nurturer of the US social community to further increase our audience engagement metrics by delivering quality content, and a high level of community management.

We currently have Nick and Jeremy in LA, with new offices and plans to hire around 20 people in LA in 2021. With you being in the US, this role will be remote working but you'll work closely with our Australian and Brazil teams too, including our Australian Social Media Manager, Henry, and our Brazilian Social Media Manager, Ana.

It would be great if you were able to:

  • Develop Linktree’s social narratives and priorities by collaborating with our global teams.
  • Externally partner with relevant audiences, users and partners.
  • Oversee the social calendar, liaising with Linktree influencers and brands to coordinate crossover opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to capture own content, share relevant content and opportunities to partner with content creatives to craft compelling narratives.
  • Engage and foster the Linktree community in the US. Create conversation and education of the Linktree products and features. Actively seek out engagement and solve problems for our users.
  • Amplify content from Linktree’s blog, user-generated content and press to grow audiences and engagement across platforms.
  • Track and report events and trends across platforms to create data-driven content recommendations.

Core skills & experience required

  • 4+ years of social media management experience, ideally within a tech company or agency.
  • Excellent creative copywriting and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in social media analytics, scheduling and creative and social listening tools.
  • Experience and a proven knowledge of the cultural and social nuances in the US.

Less important but still nice to have

  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities and collaborate across all areas the business.
  • A metrics-driven, proactive, organized, intuitive and creative approach.
  • Be on top of the latest trends in social media, pop culture and tech.

Our culture:

We hire with a people-first approach, so more importantly as a human, you will be collaborative, curious, enjoy solving complex problems and have empathy for the growing pains of a rapidly scaling startup.

Linktree's company culture and values are based around collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and flexibility. Those are all nice words but to give you some more specific examples:

  • We are a family-friendly and flexible work environment with our team with a number of our team working hours around school and home commitments.
  • We have several diversity and inclusion initiatives underway, including a D&I council, training for all staff on neurodiversity, unconscious bias and the incorporation of a transgender inclusion policy.
  • Our team is diverse across age, gender, and race and we are very proud of that.
  • All Linktree staff work either fully remote or a hybrid remote and in-office sometimes and that will continue even when COVID is behind us
  • We prioritise our team's mental health, with all employees have free access to Smiling Mind & Uprise, including 1:1 coaching sessions from qualified psychologists or counsellors.

The Linktree story:

The Linktree journey begins in 2016 when co-founders Alex, Anthony and Nick were running a digital agency and using Instagram to make announcements about the artists they managed. Created as a side hustle to solve a simple problem, Linktree has well outgrown its roots, with over 12 million users worldwide, 30,000 + new signups every day, and over 120 million unique views per month. Paired with rapid growth, Linktree has recently garnered much attention in the tech world, earning 4th place on Fast Company's "10 most innovative social media companies of 2020".

In March 2021, Linktree raised $45 million in Series B Funding led by Index Ventures and Coatue on top of our Series A with Insight Partners and AirTree. The funding will be used to expand headcount globally, develop product features and go towards making Linktree the best possible place to work for our staff.

The Linktree audience is broad, spanning publications, artists, celebrities, fashion and beauty influencers, YouTube stars, sports teams and household brands, right the way through to individuals with a side hustle and micro-influencers. Linktree subscribers include TikTok, Facebook, ClassPass, Patreon, Zapier, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Pharrell, Jamie Oliver, HBO, Red Bull, Adult Swim, Cara Delevingne, Comedy Central, Gordon Ramsay, Billabong…and many more!
