At Linktree:

  • Interesting, exciting and challenging work
  • An agile and autonomous environment
  • Working at scale with over 3m users globally

The Linktree story…

Linktree is a tool that acts like a content page on the internet, and is transforming the way content is discovered online.

The Linktree story starts in 2016, when co-founders Alex, Anthony and Nick were running a digital agency and using Instagram to make announcements about the artists they managed. Created as a side-hustle to solve a simple problem, Linktree has well outgrown its roots, with over 3 million users worldwide, 10,000 new signups every day and over 120 million unique browsers per month.

Our audience is broad, spanning publications, artists, celebrities, fashion and beauty influencers, YouTube stars, sports teams and household brands, right the way through to individuals with a side hustle and micro influencers. Linktree users include Alicia Keys, Pharrell, Jamie Oliver, Vice, Expedia, Eva Mendes, Naomi Campbell, World Surf League, Billabong…and many more!

To support such unprecedented growth, we are expanding our engineering team and are looking for the next generation of software development experts. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be involved in every step of the development process and will enjoy the agile and dynamic startup environment combined with the stability of a well established and fast growing organisation. Join us and do meaningful work alongside global brands!

If up for the challenge, you’ll get to:

  • Develop, build and improve features
  • Design and implement API methods and endpoints
  • Improve the performance and reliability of our systems
  • Work with modern tools, including AWS Lambda (Node Runtime), Typescript, PHP, Bash, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Terraform, and Linux.

You stand out because you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent training, or substantial work experience
  • over 5+ years software development experience
  • experience with functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g. NodeJS, PHP, Python, Go, C.
  • experience within a DevOps culture, utilising Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • commercial use and knowledge of Microservices' architecture using a Containerised or Serverless environment
  • ability to contribute to technical architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions within your team
  • ability to write understandable, well tested code with an eye towards performance without sacrificing maintainability
  • strong communication skills, with a natural ability to explain complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers
  • strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval
  • experience developing software applications
  • work rights within Australia
