About The Job
As an IT Operations Engineer on the IT & Corporate Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for support of our team and the day-to-day operations of our corporate infrastructure at Linktree. You’re excited about support — our customers are the folks that build the product, support our customers, and run the business. You thrive on variety, from troubleshooting an iPhone app, to finding the right cable, to learning how to admin a new system, and all while being happy to help with issues that pop up. We have a ton of work to do, so you’re always keen to help, jump in on a new issue and constantly improve everything as you go.
We are a “hybrid” company; most of our staff work remotely, but this role will require you to come into our new office next year and may require you to go into our current office a few days a week, especially for hands-on support issues.
Some Of What You’ll Do
You’ll be the first line of support and customer facing; you own support, and you’re obsessed with providing great service -- via #slack, email, tickets and in-person.
We’re all Mac. This is a must. You know how to troubleshoot Macs, use the terminal sometimes, and how to make macOS work.
You’ll help with on-site work at our HQ in Melbourne, including office builds, moves, or logistics work, and you’ll provide in-person support (when and where it’s safe to do so.)
You’ll support and manage access and licenses to SaaS applications — Dropbox, Google Workspace (GSuite), Slack, 1Password, Notion, etc.
You’ll work with and manage Mac endpoint and MDM tools.
You’ll document what you do, how you did it, and create articles to help our team solve problems.
You’re happy to chat, zoom, call folks all day long, and you love to write documents and messages that are easy to understand, and with a sense of humor.
You’ll manage, respond to, and help fix critical incidents and issues as needed, through to completion.
You’re okay working with some flexible hours sometimes - you might need to work a little later to fix an issue in another time zone, or work on an after-hours issue, so you’re flexible - but we’ll make sure you get the time off to recharge too!
You’re comfortable juggling help desk tickets and know how to prioritize them.
You’ll work on projects over sprints, and document your work in tools like Asana.
What You Bring
Everyone in IT comes from a different background or experience. We’d love to meet you if you’ve got most of the following experience:
2+ years in a regional office or on a global team in a rapidly growing company (or you’ve got a great story about how your experience is similar.
You’ve provided remote support to people in multiple countries, across time zones.
You’re familiar with shipping and receiving and some logistics work (you know how to print labels, order in advance, etc.)
You’ve got exceptionally great communication skills -- you can help people who might be frustrated or time poor without losing your cool.
You write extremely well, whether it’s in tickets, email or #slack. You write in a clear, friendly, and concise manner, and you’re aware of different cultures.
You can think critically in situations where the symptom may not be related to the cause.
A desire to provide a great experience for others - when they win, you win.
You take security seriously, and you know what 2FA is.
You understand basic networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching.
You understand and know the troubleshooting steps and layers of the OSI model -- you know how to methodically troubleshoot problems without wasting someone’s time.
You work well with some autonomy, and can accurately scope your priorities, and work across multiple teams. Strong organizational and task management skills are critical.
You’re comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and sometimes making the right decision without knowing all the details.
You’re in Australia; ideally in Melbourne, but Sydney is cool too.
Nice to Haves
Some familiarity with GCP or AWS (you don’t need certs, but you’ve used it a bit.)
You understand networking fundamentals and basic troubleshooting — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching
You’ve used tools like BetterCloud or GAM and command-line interfaces to do lots of work with less effort.
You’ve worked in a remote environment before.
Finally – don’t have everything on this job description, but you think your experience is a great match? Go ahead and apply - tell us why you’re a great fit!

The Linktree Story
The average number of social media accounts is close to 9 per person these days. Chances are you’re also using more than 3-4 social media platforms - but where should someone who want to discover more about you can achieve that? In a highly fragmented digital world, the concept of presenting your whole self feels overwhelming to most - and that’s where Linktree comes in.
Creating this category 5 years ago, we launched a simple tool that allowed anyone to manage their corner of the online world. Want to link all your social media accounts under one link? Thinking of turning your passion into your income? Want to share your ideas, beliefs, or even just a playlist you like? Linktree has the platform to help you get it done.
It sounds good, we hear you say, but how do I know if it works? Fair question - why don’t you take it up with Facebook, TikTok, Redbull, HBO, Metallica, Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez, or Michelle Obama? They’re all using Linktree!
With an average sign up rate of 30,000+ new users per day for the past 18 months (with no signs of stopping), and with our latest funding round of $45M USD announced recently, we’re on our way to make real impact on the digital world - and we’d love for you to join us for this ride.
