The Role summary:

Reporting into our Head of Data, you will lead & manage a team of Data Engineers, Analysts and Scientists. You are responsible for guiding, supporting and enabling the individuals in your team to exceed all expectations and progress in their careers, and are heavily involved in the hiring process for new team members.

You will utilise your strengths in people and technical leadership to develop and grow a team of 6-7 data engineers & scientists that build and maintain the data platform of Linktree. As their leader you drive your team and the individuals within, to do the greatest work of their career together, your technical expertise will level everybody up around you.

We are growing quickly so you will have a big impact right away, helping us to build agile processes and designing the future of the engineering practice as well as having an impact in influencing our 15+ millions users.

The Role:

  • People Leadership - Lead, mentor, guide, and grow a team of Data Engineers, Scientists and Analysts.

  • Growth - Collaborate with the talent team to attract, hire and retain the best talent in the market

  • Collaborate and build - Work with the other engineering leaders and Tech Leads to champion and evangelise the architectural vision for the data platform as it continues to scale and evolve.

  • Technical Leadership - Be a connector across engineering teams to drive sound technical decisions. Oversee the overall development life-cycle, from design/planning to implementation and support to maintain a high standard of software quality

  • Scale - Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements

Requirements


  • Proven experience leading and growing a team of data engineers

  • Experience growing a high performing data team

  • Strong collaboration mindset

  • Experience executing a technical vision at a team level

  • Data engineering management skills is desirable

  • Understanding of Agile

  • 1:1 communication skills

  • Great writing, documentation, reporting on state of play

  • Passionate about growth and scale and understands the ambiguity that can come with this
