You: Builder of online communities and creator of micro networks that turn users into Linktree advocates. Design and run programs, events and engage with brand ambassadors to create and share their success stories.

Linktree: Linktree, a rapidly growing Australian tech company. With over 9 million customers and 20,000+ new account sign-ups a day, we are very rapidly growing. We currently have a team of 2 in LA but that number will continue to grow over the next 12 months. 

The Linktree audience is broad, spanning publications, artists, celebrities, fashion and beauty influencers, YouTube stars, sports teams and household brands, right the way through to individuals with a side hustle and micro-influencers. The community lead will develop communities within each relevant vertical, identify the key users in those circles and develop relationships to grow those users into brand ambassadors. 

Linktree subscribers include Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez, Pharrell, Jamie Oliver, Vice, Red Bull, Adult Swim, Patreon, Naomi Campbell, Comedy Central and Gordan Ramsay already, but there are many other categories and sectors that already use Linktree that would benefit greatly from having their own niche community.

Due to COVID we are all remote but even when COVID is behind us, we will be a mixed remote and in-office company. With our team already spread across 8 locations and 3 countries, we will always be some form of remote.

What are the key responsibilities of this role?

  • Nurture Linktree's user base to share best practices, vertical specific tips and drive advocacy
  • Proactively engage with and ensure we have a meaningful presence on platforms where our communities are built and live
  • Work to build communities based on vertical specific interests and find ways for the community to share knowledge, celebrate wins together
  • Identify key customers across various verticals of our user base and find ways to highlight their stories back to the community through Linktree marketing (PR/blog/social media/newsletter etc)
  • Collaborate to create engagement programs, activities, events, and groups with the goal of retaining and harnessing the passion and creativity of our community members
  • Build a robust community management plan to communicate with and gather feedback from contributors
  • Continually find new ways to surprise and delight our users
  • Be the champion of the Linktree userbase back into the business
  • Work with marketing manager to build and implement a brand ambassador strategy

What experience are we looking for?

At least a few years of experience in building online communities, both longer term strategies and day to day user and community level engagement. Be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of the variety of social tech platforms in the market, and what Linktree could do within those platforms to build engage communities. 

We are looking someone to be able to understand really different users and create communities for them through listening to their needs, strong written and verbal communication and strategic thinking.

We have grown quickly in 2020, from a team of 20 people to over 40 in the past 6 months, with more growth planned due to the continued expansion of our customer base around the world.
